Full Job Description
As a Systems Engineer III, you will handle advanced tasks in requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). with a high level of competence. You will lead system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management efforts, providing guidance to junior engineers. You will take on significant project responsibilities, demonstrating expertise in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial as you drive project success and mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop requirements and select system components in support of internal research and development and the design of new air and missile defense platforms
  • Conduct benchtop system integration of components and ultimately on a final platform
  • Work with the team to establish intra and inter platform network architectures to ensure low-latency, secure communications for man-in-the-loop and man-on-the-loop operations
  • Implement and manage critical networking technologies such as VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, multicast, and optical transport systems
  • Select, integrate, and troubleshoot line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications systems, including terrestrial radio networks and BLOS circuits connecting ground systems
  • Develop network test procedures ensuring performance requirements are met on internal platform networks and across terrestrial radio, SATCOM, LOS, and BLOS links


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field
  • Experience with the development of system architectures and requirements in support of program design
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking: TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, GRE tunnels, multicast
  • Practical experience with LOS/BLOS communications systems, including terrestrial radio systems and ground BLOS circuits

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experienced with land or surface based defense systems, preferably air defense systems
  • Certifications such as CISSP, Network+, Security+
  • Experience with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, STIGs, DoDAF, NIST
  • Ability to work alone in the troubleshooting of system issues and with a team in the design and integration of a new platform
  • Responsive to both rapid development environments with evolving goals and more dedicated program efforts with fixed requirements

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for system modeling and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
