Job Overview

This position supports ULA's Vulcan Development organization, contributing to upgrades to the Vulcan Centaur launch system and development activities that expand ULA's future launch capabilities. Level 2 Systems Engineers work under the guidance of senior engineers to apply foundational technical depth and systems engineering discipline across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support cross-functional integration on airborne system development teams.
  • Assist in evaluating customer and operational needs, contributing to the development, allocation, and integration of system requirements.
  • Perform systems engineering tasks such as requirements decomposition and traceability, system analyses, trade study inputs, and test documentation.
  • Participate in integration and verification activities, including data review, test support, and verification planning.
  • Support development of operational processes, risk/issue tracking, and configuration-controlled artifacts.
  • Apply appropriately scaled systems engineering rigor based on project maturity and risk.
  • Contribute effectively within Agile teams by embracing iterative development, rapid learning cycles, and collaboration-focused workflows.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Foundational technical depth in at least one engineering discipline relevant to launch vehicles (e.g., propulsion, structures, avionics, FSW/GSW).
  • Ability to interpret engineering data and contribute to technical problem solving.
  • Experience with requirements development, traceability, or verification.
  • Familiarity with system design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary, fast-paced technical teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to subsystem integration or development activities.
  • Exposure to Agile development practices (e.g., stand-ups, backlog refinement, iterative planning) and willingness to develop an Agile mindset.
  • Exposure to digital engineering / MBSE principles (e.g., SysML basics, requirements-to-model traceability).
  • Experience with tools such as Teamcenter.


Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $81,695.00 - $136,159.00
