Project Overview:

Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).

Job Summary:

In the role of Systems Delivery Project Manager RSSOM (Rolling Stock, Systems, and O&M), you will be responsible for oversight of engineering and construction services throughout the project lifecycle and accountable to ensure designs meet the delivery/constructability need of construction. You will also be responsible for construction readiness and supervision, making sure that the contractor is meeting their contract and schedule management, construction quality, site safety, and security requirements.#LI-JL1

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision
  • Delivers project from initial conception and procurement through commissioning and handovers within scope, on budget and on schedule, in accordance with good project management and construction practices.
  • Manages complex project issues and risks, facilitates effective conflict resolution, communicates with internal and external stakeholders, and manages their expectations.
  • Manages the efficient delivery of project elements through project activities, including preliminary design, detailed design, construction, contract management, and commissioning activities.
  • Carries out robust assessment of the contractor schedule and supervises the development of risk assessments and robust mitigation measures.

Planning / Productivity
  • Monitors objectives related to engineering progress, document control, budget, and work breakdown structures, project schedules, resource prioritization, and staffing requirements.
  • Ensures that contractors' construction plans and schedules are complete, workable, and in accordance with contract documents.
  • Oversees contractors' compliance to contract provisions, including monitoring safety, quality, environmental compliance, cost, and schedule performance.

Safety & Quality
  • Drives a Zero Incident Philosophy within team and wider project.
  • Collaborates with the contractor to implement H&S best practices and initiatives. Drives the safety culture on the project.
  • Monitors implementation of the Contractor's quality program(s). Monitors the Contractor's quality assurance activities to ensure materials and equipment comply with design plans and specifications.

Technical
  • Assists the development and assessment of alternative construction and installation methodologies in accordance with best international practices.
  • Monitors the contractor's performance and compliance with the contract.
  • Prepares and monitors the strategic goals and objectives of the project.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Similar railway metro project in an urban environment.
  • General experience and knowledge of railway systems installation - Traction Power, Signalling, Communications (Fibre, CCTV, PA), SCADA, and Platform Screen Doors.
  • Experience in planning and execution of systems installation.
