Systems Administrator - III

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to provide technical and production support for enterprise storage and backup infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications. The role involves managing storage hardware platforms, VMware environments, and enterprise backup solutions, including Commvault and Cohesity. Responsibilities include storage provisioning, configuration, maintenance, performance optimization, incident management, capacity planning, and troubleshooting to ensure infrastructure stability, availability, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Maintain the integrity and availability of storage networks and systems under general supervision. • Perform storage and backup provisioning, configuration, maintenance, resource management, reporting, and troubleshooting. • Provide storage and backup support, resolve problem tickets, and maintain stable production environments. • Implement software and hardware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes. • Identify, recommend, and remediate infrastructure problems and vulnerabilities to meet operational requirements. • Work with clients and senior engineers to document and implement storage and backup requests or revisions. • Follow established change control processes and procedures when implementing infrastructure changes. • Participate in infrastructure and application projects, including evaluating, recommending, designing, building, testing, and coordinating product solution implementations. • Perform change management using standard tools and established procedures for software and hardware changes across platforms and environments. • Ensure infrastructure changes conform to existing system capabilities. • Perform incident and problem management activities, including on-call rotations, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis. • Monitor capacity and performance trends, ensure adequate resource allocation, and perform performance tuning and environment optimization. • Gather and provide support-related information and reports to management. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with 3-5+ years of relevant work experience. • Strong understanding of storage hardware platforms, including Hitachi, Dell, or similar technologies. • Familiarity with ESX/VMware environments. • Expert-level Commvault experience, with the ability to independently handle high-severity issues and guide backup strategy. • Hands-on experience with enterprise storage operations, including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning. • Experience supporting mission-critical environments, including incident response and root cause analysis. • Strong understanding of change management processes and adherence to established procedures. • Expert-level Cohesity experience. • Automation and scripting experience with Ansible, Python, or PowerShell. • Experience with capacity and performance management. • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with monitoring and performance tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or Dynatrace. • Networking knowledge relevant to storage, including NFS, SMB, FC, and iSCSI. • Prior experience in regulated or financial environments. • Familiarity with security practices and vulnerability remediation.
