About the job Systems Administrator - Contract (Raleigh, NC)
Keep the servers and systems behind North Carolina's public services running smoothly and securely.Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of systems administrators for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area. Assignments typically run 6-12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).
Pay & Schedule- $35 - $42 per hour, based on experience and skill level
- Full-time, about 40 hours per week; some after-hours maintenance windows
- Contract assignment; W-2 hourly employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC

What You'll Do- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Manage server backups, patching, security hardening and user accounts
- Tune performance and support capacity planning
- Review system logs to spot and fix problems before they reach users
- Migrate and integrate new technologies into existing environments
- Document configurations and procedures
What You Need- 1-3+ years of systems administration experience (Mid-Level 3-5 years, Senior 5-7, Expert 7+)
- Hands-on Windows Server and Active Directory/Group Policy and/or Red Hat or other Linux
- Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, backup tools and PowerShell or Bash scripting
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; able to pass a background check
Great Fit If You Have- Microsoft Azure or AWS administration; Microsoft 365/Intune administration
- CompTIA Security+, Server+, RHCSA or Microsoft certifications
- Government IT experience
