EMCO is currently seeking Systems Administrator 3 to join our team. Tasks include management of IT system, infrastructure, and any processes related to these systems.
Primary Responsibilities
System Integration
Ensure the day-to-day operation and ongoing support of Servers and Systems including event, fault, and performance management. Install, monitor, and troubleshoot operating systems, hardware, and computer infrastructure. Find gaps in the systems and use analytical skills and knowledge of problem-solving methodologies to provide solutions. Design the environment and software layers to provide for a reliable, scalable, secure and highly available Linux, Windows and Virtual environment.
Application & Deployment
Lead application teams responsible for continuous software enhancements, patch management, and deployments across development environments.
Agile Collaboration
Lead efforts and work closely with systems administrators, database and application administrators/programmers, network engineers/analysts, customers and outside vendors in engineering solutions or resolving problems.
Documentation & Testing
Define system test procedures, task success criteria, and maintain technical architecture diagrams, system build and application update documentation.
Basic Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience
6 years of professional systems administration, application deployment, or IT infrastructure experience.
Technical Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX, VMWare or OpenShift and system administration. Some knowledge of Microsoft Windows infrastructure. Some ansible, scripting and PowerShell command-line, environment tracking helpful.
Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications
Active industry certifications (e.g., Red Hat, CompTIA Security+).
Environment
Direct experience supporting government, aerospace, or real-time NASA mission-critical environments.
Frameworks
Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines, automated infrastructure tools, and Agile frameworks.
Skill Sets Experience
Linux/RHEl/UNIX, VMWare or OpenShift and system administration. Some Microsoft Systems and Windows foundations, Storage Array (Nexsan, Dell Unity); VMware, iDRAC (IPMI), Ability to produce and maintain scripts. Some experience in a UNIX environment for automation and data migration between systems helpful; . Knowledge of Cisco Software Defined Networking technologies
