Standard Job Description- As the D5LE2 System Safety Engineering Lead on the Fleet Ballistic Missile program, you will serve as the primary point of contact for system safety on the new program.
In this role, you will: - Manage and lead the safety analysis development across the program
- Be responsible for presenting the safety assessment strategy and status to the customer and for major program milestone reviews
- Perform system and subsystem safety in accordance with MIL-STD-882E
- Collaborate across the FBM program integrated product teams (IPTs) to help foster a positive safety culture

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Basic Qualifications- Experience in the engineering development lifecycle
- Must have experience in requirements derivation, decomposition, and verification
- Experience with contractual requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Desired Skills- A minimum of a BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education
- Subject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Experience interfacing with Customer and Program Management
- Software Safety experience.
- Experience working in System Safety Working Groups - SSWG, WSESRB, SSSTRP, etc
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience identifying critical hardware & software

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
