System Engineer VOverviewTech(x) is seeking a System Engineer to support the integration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of Army tactical communications systems. The engineer will provide technical expertise for tactical radios, associated waveforms, and supporting networks, working with government customers and engineering teams to translate mission requirements into test plans, validated configurations, and practical technical guidance.
Responsibilities- Provide systems engineering support for tactical radio systems, including requirements analysis, subsystem analysis, architecture decomposition, integration, verification, and maintenance.
- Advise project and program leads on Leader and Manpack radio capabilities, configuration options, operational limitations, and technical issues.
- Develop radio mission plans, field execution plans, test scenarios, and validation procedures based on customer requirements and product requirements documents.
- Support developmental, operational, qualification, and risk reduction testing in laboratory and field environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot tactical radio equipment and waveforms, including SATCOM, MUOS, SINCGARS, WREN TSM, TSM, and SRW.
- Integrate and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure, including voice and radio over IP capabilities.
- Validate physical and logical configurations of baseline systems and systems under test; assess interoperability across equipment from multiple vendors.
- Identify and document test anomalies, equipment failures, and configuration issues; prepare test incident reports, problem reports, and after action reports.
- Coordinate laboratory follow-up and corrective actions; evaluate technical risks and recommend approaches that preserve test integrity and minimize schedule impacts.
- Provide hands-on instruction and over-the-shoulder training; develop technical manuals, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Coordinate with government leads and technical teams, consolidate status reports, and brief leadership on test results, lessons learned, and recommended actions.• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- At least five years of relevant experience in tactical communications, telecommunications engineering, systems integration, or military communications support.
- Hands-on experience configuring, operating, integrating, and troubleshooting tactical radios and associated communications equipment.
- Experience developing test plans or test scenarios, validating configurations, documenting anomalies, and supporting laboratory or field testing.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, Cisco routers and switches, IP networking, and integration of radio systems with supporting networks.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and prepare clear technical documentation, status reports, and training materials.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate across technical teams, and communicate effectively with government customers and program leadership.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Army Leader and Manpack radios, such as AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-162, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-148C/D, AN/PRC-154A, or AN/PRC-155.
- Experience with MUOS, SATCOM, SINCGARS, WREN TSM, TSM, or SRW waveforms; HCLOS, TROPO, or battlefield video teleconferencing systems.
- Experience with COMSEC custodian responsibilities, military communications training, and support to Army radio program offices.
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager, VoIP, RoIP, or Radio over Internet Protocol Routed Network systems.
Preferred Certifications- CCNA,

- CompTIA Network+,
- or a relevant Microsoft systems administration certification.
Clearance:Current
DoD Secret clearance required. Must be eligible to obtain a
Top Secret clearance.
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Systems Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 10-15 years of experience.
- 4 years of direct experience may be substituted for the degree, subject to contract labor category requirements.
Location:- Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. On-site.
Travel:Up to 30% travel required
