Job DescriptionACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIREDThe
System Engineer analyzes user needs, documents, and high-level system architectures to develop comprehensive system requirements specifications. In this role, you will assist in leading systems design and development activities, guiding users in formulating actionable requirements, evaluating alternative technical approaches, and conducting feasibility studies. Operating within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), the System Engineer ensures the technical integrity of engineering deliverables across the full lifecycle. This includes deriving requirements down to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components, establishing baseline verification criteria, maintaining architecture compliance (e.g., DoDAF, SOA), and defining critical Information Assurance (IA) and security mechanism requirements.
The annual base salary range for this role is $130,000-$154,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Requirements Decomposition & Management: Proven ability to analyze CONOPS and high-level architectures to derive, allocate, trace, and validate functional requirements across hardware, software, and interface boundaries.
- Architecture Framework Familiarity: Hands-on experience developing and aligning system design models with standard architecture conventions, specifically the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Systems Engineering Documentation: Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and contributing to core engineering artifacts such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs/SEPs), and verification/test matrices.
- Information Assurance (IA) & Security Engineering: Solid understanding of core security concepts needed to derive security requirements, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, non-repudiation, access control models (DAC/MAC), authentication, and cryptographic key management.
- Configuration Management & Cross-Discipline Coordination: Experience collaborating within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), tracking baseline changes, and resolving technical action items emerging from Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and formal milestone reviews.

High School Diploma / GED, PLUS
11+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired Skills- Requirements Management Tooling: Hands-on experience utilizing enterprise requirements databases and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS or Jama Connect.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Familiarity with SysML modeling, architecture visualization tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect), and digital engineering workflows.
- Program Planning & Baseline Integration: Familiarity reviewing and providing technical input to Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Work Packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- Budgeting & Performance Analysis: Experience calculating and allocating real-time processing budgets, link budgets, latency margins, or error budgets across distributed system components.
