How you will make an impact:- Execute feature, integration, regression, and system-level validation activities for Waveserver software and hardware releases.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases covering different service workflows.
- Validate northbound interfaces including CLI, REST, NETCONF, gNMI/gRPC, OpenConfig, SNMP, and WebSocket management interfaces.
- Perform verification of streaming telemetry, data collection, performance monitoring, and operational state reporting across supported interfaces.
- Investigate software defects by analyzing logs, alarms, telemetry data, and system behavior, and collaborate with development teams to drive root-cause resolution.
- Contribute to test automation initiatives using Python-based frameworks, Jupyter notebooks, and other software tools to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
- Collaborate with Development, Systems Engineering, and Technical Support teams to support high-quality product releases and customer satisfaction.
The must haves:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (including internships, co-op terms, academic research, or projects).
- Understanding of testing concepts including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals and network management concepts.
- Exposure to AI-enabled engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to support software development, automation, data analysis, and problem-solving activities.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Exposure to Python or other programming languages.
Nice to haves:- Knowledge of optical networking, DWDM, coherent optics, Layer 0/1 transport technologies, or telecommunications systems.
- Exposure to network telemetry, performance monitoring, streaming data, or network analytics concepts.
- Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD workflows, Git, Jenkins, Robot Framework, PyTest, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with YANG models, OpenConfig, SNMP, or network management systems.
- Experience working with test equipment, lab environments, or hardware/software integration testing.
- Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
- Interest in networking, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, automation, and software quality engineering.
Pay Range:The annual pay range for this position is $62,700 - $100,100
