Overview

This role leads a fast growing and dynamic commerce practice inclusive of client executive lead responsibilities for growth, practice leadership to grow and develop the team, and internal leadership to grow commerce adoption in holistic identity and lead media to shelf plans. Leadership experience in an agency environment is essential. Client-side leadership experiences are also of value particularly if in the shopper/ecommerce/commerce space.

Responsibilities

Product
  • Overall control of workflow and assigned responsibilities within their group. They will oversee the progress of all projects and provide assistance, where necessary, to assure timely completion of projects
  • Ensure that all client deliverables are produced completely and efficiently leveraging tools such as Asana or Smart Sheets.
  • Oversee strategic principles for commerce work deliverables and able to engage and articulate with client Sr. Leadership to present and defend approaches.
  • Oversee action plans for achieving and measuring campaign success, including determining key metrics and processes for measurement and optimization
  • Evaluate and recommend full spectrum of Commerce partnerships including all appropriate Retail Media platforms (Walmart Connect, Kroger Precision Marketing, Amazon, Roundel, Sam's Club MAP, etc.) as well as bid and campaign management tools (i.e Pacvue and SKAI) and Retailer data and analytic tools (Luminate/Scintilla, Stratum, AMC)
  • Work with strategic planning, digital planning and outside ad agencies to ensure search complements all client marketing activity
  • Keep clients and agency counterparts informed on latest developments in the Commerce industry and develop bespoke Thought Leadership opportunities at external conferences and client events
  • Grow agency Commerce business through new business and organic client growth
  • Keep up with growing Commerce platforms and trends, understand how Commerce and other media channels work together, and look holistically to plan for client businesses/goals
  • Lead client and inter-agency education of Commerce, as well as developing intellectual capital, including best practices, case studies, and official agency points-of-view

People
  • Establish and foster a corporate culture that inspires talent
  • Allocate assignments to leverage each person's skills, as well as motivate their interests and challenge their minds
  • Encourage thorough evaluation of Commerce marketing strategies while finding opportunity for competitive advantage
  • Develop direct reports by providing ongoing feedback and conducting employee evaluations
  • Recruit and retain top search marketing talent, growing the Commerce team to deliver on client and agency goals

Clients
  • Serve as client senior point of contact, able to provide effective long-term strategic guidance and counsel
  • Master, identify, and communicate trends in Commerce and in client industries
  • Stay up to date with all Spark/Publicis Commerce client initiatives and be able to introduce other client experiences with similar goals and targets to existing or potential partners
  • Define and evaluate client competition online, as well as how it relates to Commerce initiatives
  • Establish appropriate account staffing, scope of services, and fee proposals

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive levels of e- commerce / shopper/retail media experience with several years in the Commerce space
  • In-depth activation and optimization experience with Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, Target, etc.
  • Experience with organic and paid search and or display on-site and off-site
  • Experience applying commerce marketing to brand-building and direct response initiatives
  • Experience with Retail Media Data a plus (Luminate/Scintilla, Amazon Marketing Cloud, Stratum)
  • Strong command of search engine research and reporting resources
  • Experience with at least one major bid management tool (Pacvue or SKAI)
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills of a large and dynamic team
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media/marketing services profession
  • Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to lead new business development process, with demonstrated ability to win new clients
  • Ability to build and strengthen client relationships
  • Maintain healthy senior relationships with key industry partners

Compensation Range: USD $180,215.00 - USD $268,905.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
