Full Job Description
BKF Engineers is seeking a Survey Manager to join our team! This role focuses on managing survey operations, leading project teams, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Survey Manager is responsible for managing multiple survey projects, mentoring staff, supporting client relationships, and contributing to the growth and development of the survey practice. This role works closely with project teams, clients, and leadership to deliver high-quality surveying services while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities
• Manage survey projects from proposal through final deliverables
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
• Lead and mentor survey staff, providing technical guidance and professional development
• Review and approve survey deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
• Coordinate field and office survey activities to ensure project objectives and quality standards are achieved
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts
• Prepare project scopes, fee estimates, and proposals
• Identify opportunities for additional services and new projects
• Ensure compliance with applicable surveying standards, regulations, and company procedures
• Travel to various job sites and offices may be required
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 8+ years of surveying experience with progressively increasing responsibility
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and industry standards
• Experience managing survey projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships
• Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D
• Experience with construction staking, boundary analysis, mapping, and legal descriptions
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Lead and initiate special projects as needed
• May require flexible hours
• Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required
• Minimum of 3 days in office required
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.
Benefits
• The typical base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $160,000.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly.
