Supply Chain Manager

The Manager, Supply Chain (SCM), External Manufacturing, is accountable for ensuring the compliant, reliable, and cost-effective manufacture of assigned pharmaceutical products through external manufacturing partners. The role has end-to-end operational accountability for products manufactured at external sites and serves as the primary interface between Bausch Health Internal stakeholders and its Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). The position operates independently within defined strategies and policies and escalates significant risks or issues to leadership as appropriate.

Scope & Impact

  • Owns multiple marketed products, product families, and CMOs, typically of moderate to high complexity.
  • Impacts patient supply continuity, and cost of goods for assigned portfolio.
  • Decisions directly affect commercial supply.
  • Operates across CMO regional and CMO global manufacturing sites (functions in a matrix environment, collaborates with Bausch Health Ireland Planning for certain ex-US CMOs).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the single-point operational owner for assigned external manufacturing relationships.
  • Accountable for delivery of product supply against agreed demand, schedules, and business priorities.
  • Leads routine governance activities, including performance monitoring, issue escalation, and resolution.
  • Identifies and resolves manufacturing issues through cross-functional collaboration with Technical Operations, Quality, and Procurement.
  • Supports launch readiness and lifecycle management initiatives at external sites.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, including issues with external manufacturing partners, logistics delays, or changes in market conditions.
  • Works closely with Procurement to support contract negotiation, cost management, and budgeting activities for external manufacturing services.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance service performance.
  • Lead / support capacity planning, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning for external manufacturing partners.
  • Portfolio/CMO ownership vs. single task execution
  • Decision-Making Authority.
    • Recommends strategic actions (e.g., capacity changes, remediation plans, site transfers) to management.
    • Escalates critical compliance, supply, or financial risks with clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Leadership Expectations
    • No direct people management required, however provides strong matrix leadership across functions and external partners.
    • Serves as oversight management ("dotted line") for Latin America Supply Planning (Mexico, Colombia) for reporting on supply status and any supply issue resolution.
    • May serve as needed in cross-functional Project Management role to support brand to generic product launches, addition of alternate production lines, etc.
    • Expected to demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain / develop strong relationship with supply chain counterparts at CMOs, Bausch Health Supply Chain Planning, External Manufacturing Quality Assurance.
  • Serve as backup to other SCMs for their CMO's during vacations/absences.
  • Prepare supply chain topics for discussion, supporting data, issue identification, resolution activity and areas of improvement required from CMO's at CMO Business Review Meetings. Represent Supply Chain at relevant business reviews.
  • Accountable for CMO supply chain metrics. Generation of action items to resolve performance levels below target in collaboration with Procurement.
  • Review of supply forecast for significant changes with Supply Chain Planning colleagues and summarizing the impact for presentation to CMO partners to determine current and future production impact and actions.
  • Submission of rolling forecasts and Purchase Orders monthly to CMOs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in supply chain management, solid understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, and experience managing external manufacturers (preferred).
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, ISM, or similar) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP (preferred), and Power BI. Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to act independently, and as a team player, with excellent multi-tasking ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.


The range of starting base pay for this role is 110K - 150K. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
