Overview

The position:

Lead freight strategy, performance reporting, carrier negotiations, and carrier relationships to improve service reliability, cost control, visibility, and supply-chain resilience.

The Supply Chain Logistics Manager is an empowered team member who will work with Panasonic Avionics Corporation internal customers, specifically, distribution and warehousing, order management, program management, material planning, and cash management. The Manager will be responsible for establishing a supply chain logistics program/network to meet corporate sales distribution and support commitments.

Responsibilities

What We're looking for:
  • Establish global distribution network pursuant to lean supply chain logistics initiatives.
  • Ensure that selected carriers, forwarders and logistics service providers meet expectations as defined in the agreed upon Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review and audit transportation billing for accuracy against contracts and tariffs to ensure compliance.
  • Perform quarterly business reviews with logistics service providers and report performance metrics to company officials.
  • Negotiate rates with logistics service providers to meet and support continuous cost down initiatives.
  • Develop, deploy and train all distribution support groups on transportation policies and guidelines.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, high-pressure environment, and possesses and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience with FAA and Customs requirements desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in logistics routing and freight forwarding desirable.
  • Ability to work in a group or alone; oriented towards the good of the whole.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • College degree in Business Administration, International Business, or related field. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in ERP information technology or support areas, specifically with Order
  • Entry, Inventory and Finance.
  • 2+ years experience with Oracle Applications, or similar ERP system, in multiple areas, including but not limited to Distribution, Order Entry, Inventory, and Finance.
  • 4+ years in distribution and logistics environment. Air transportation a plus.
  • 4+ years in contract rate negotiations with logistics service providers.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

May require travel up to 25% of the time to domestic and/or international locations.

The salary range of $104,000 to $174,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum.
