Full Job Description
This position is based at our Jackson, MS facility.

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving supplier improvements in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. The improvements must be consistent with Eaton Aerospace requirements.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you'll do:

- Ensure the support for implementation and sustain of the Quality Leading Indicators (QLI's)
- Review, evaluate and assign Quality Requirements to Purchase Orders in lieu with the Supply Chain organization.
- Delegation as approver for FAIR's performed by suppliers through Wisper or Supplier VIS.
- Create Inspection Plans for Part numbers according with the requirements (including Key Characteristics as CTQ, CTC or Special Processes)
- Coordinate and support MR and Supplier Change Requests activities when these are required by Suppliers or Internal customers.

- Function as Lead Auditor to perform on-site, quality system audits at suppliers and gap analysis in order to assess Eaton's Aerospace Group, Customer and FAA regulatory requirements to AS9100 / ISO 9001:2000 standards.
- Support the Quality Leading Indicators across supplier base.
- Perform on-site and internal supplier development activities via Pareto of defects, 8D, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Perform product audits on site at Suppliers to verify conformance to design and contractual requirements.
- Facilitate problem solving and root cause analysis activities both internal to Eaton's Aerospace Group and external to Eaton's supply base and Customers when required to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
- Assume leading role in the development and application of Advanced Quality tools such as: PPAP, Key Characteristics, Variability Reduction, Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Provide Supply Chain interfaces with the aircraft design teams, team partners, program management office, suppliers and the customer as required.
- Improve key metrics supply chain KPI's, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and scrap.
- Develop long term supplier relationships and generate and Implement cost reduction ideas.
- Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Create and review Quality procedures associated to the Supplier Quality base.
- Lead initiatives utilizing quality system methodologies and techniques to enhance supplier performance improvement. Initiatives to include:
o Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology
o Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFEMA, FAI, etc.
o Measuring and monitoring supplier performance DPPM levels
o Supplier Audit Schedule in collaboration with the Supplier Development Group.
o Utilize Eaton's ProLaunch new product/product change system as needed.
o Whisper system utilization and enhancement

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
  • One (1)+ years of experience with quality related activities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now and in the future
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Jackson, MS will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation


Preferred:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001:2016.
- 8D (RCCA) problem solving, aerospace auditing background
- Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage and machining.
- Experience with Aerospace and/or Automotive suppliers.
- Experience with complex machining suppliers.
- Experience with Special processes suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting).
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma/ Lean tools.
- Knowledge of Nadcap process
- Advanced knowledge of APQP/PPAP

Skills:

Position Criteria:
- Knowledge of Aerospace product and manufacturing processes, machining methodologies, and inspection techniques.
- Detailed knowledge of the latest ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications per ASME Y14.5M.
- Knowledge of machining, assembly & test operations, gauging, SPC, and APQP.
- Experience utilizing AS9100 Quality System and product/process auditing techniques.
- Knowledge of AS9102 First Article and AS9103 Key Characteristic requirements.
- Must exhibit a high level of motivation, sense of urgency, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
- Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others' decision making.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results driven.
- Knowledge of product and manufacturing process.
- Process oriented and ability to lead and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30%).
- Significant experience with Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Correction Actions and Nonconforming Material Dispositions, MRB
- Experience with Dock-to-Stock and Skip-lot Programs
- Experience with Supplier Improvement Programs, Supplier Quality Plans
