Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a NURSINGSUPERVISOR to join our SURGERY team!

The Nursing Supervisor has day to day responsibility for the coordination, leadership and development of the nursing department, personnel, and operations. Assists with patient safety, quality efforts, financial management, employee satisfaction and community accountabilities. Assumes leadership responsibility in the absence of the manager or director.

Promotes an environment where nursing/clinical staff can flourish through professional development, improvement in workflow and workload, optimization of talent and resources, implementation and validation of best practices, consistent and clear communication including closed loop feedback, real time coaching, support of high reliability methods and tools, and creating opportunities for staff to have a voice in decisions that impact practice. Also, represents the Aspirus nursing division voice and perspective through involvement in department workgroups.

HOURS: Full Time, 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period, 8-hour day shifts during the week

Experience/Qualifications

  • Valid and current Wisconsin registered nurse license or compact license
  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from accredited school highly preferred (BSN).
  • Minimum of three years' healthcare experience as a staff nurse
  • Minimum of two years in previous Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or equivalent experience.
  • In specialty and/or leadership optional
  • Has working knowledge of general nursing standards, practice bundles, and operations.
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and follow through on commitments.
  • Values different perspectives and find win-win solutions.
  • Demonstrates professional verbal/written communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills, clear decision-making ability, and the ability to collaborate within teams.
  • Recognizes workflow problems or inefficiencies and identifies new processes for improvement.

  • Collaborate with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations and promote diversity in the workplace.
