Haile Gold Mine is seeking a qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor- Mechanical that provides oversight of projects that include Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines that are critical to the operation of the Mine and provides engineering support and advice on the planning, design and supervision/monitoring of Haile's underground and surface mining.
- Plans, implements, and monitors design and planning work to comply with national regulatory standards
- Directs and coordinates design and planning work to meet delivery targets
- Provides close to accurate cost estimates of SMP projects for budgeting and procurement.
- Thoroughly analyzes data collected and recommends actions plans to ensure timely, cost efficient, and high-quality output produced by contractors
- Promptly communicates with contractors to resolve complex issues that hinder the completion of the project
- Develops solutions to mitigate risk and maximize value
- Periodically performs audits to check compliance with regulatory requirements
- Reviews risks, responses and risk management performance within the team
- Leads the preparation of documents, plans, budgets, and presentations to ensure the implementation of the program objectives and plans
- Monitors compliance of program implementation with agreements as stated in program plans, MOA, and/or other similar agreements
- Keeps stakeholders apprised of progress through regular communication and updates
- Addresses project issues with urgency and direct communication with the right stakeholders and actors
Physical Requirements:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
Qualifications- 5 years of experience in industrial plant construction, power plants and mine processing plants.
- 3 years of supervisory experience in industrial plant construction, power plants and mine processing plant projects and/or experience in construction management.
- Trade Qualifications or Degree in Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical).
- MSHA 40 HR Trained or past MSHA training
- Knowledge in SMP construction methodologies and standards and its installation.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite: MS Excel functions and setup, MS Word processing, MS PowerPoint presentation, and MS Project usage and processing.
- High technical knowledge in general engineering
- Displays high degree of safety and environmental awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.
