Overview

Position Summary:

Leads and manages a team of Material Coordinators responsible for the flow of materials and related processes and transactions required to support complex product lines. Manages the team that works as the direct interface between the Warehouse, Purcashing and the production floor for materials. Supports and provides vital communication links to the team champions, group leaders and manufacturing managers. Expected to have leadership and superior analytical skill as demonstrated by the ability to maintain inventory levels and accuracy on complex production lines.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the leadership, training and coaching of the Material Coordinator team
  • Manages Kanban material system for assigned product lines.
  • Will lead projects related to material systems required for new product introduction
  • Expedites all overdue orders or late Kanban deliveries.
  • Expedites material shortage issues to purchasing staff and update current status to manufacturing team.
  • Monitors usage and advises suppliers of any trending activity shown in our consumption levels.
  • Monitors Consignment inventory levels periodically and advises Senior Buyers when levels fall below desirable quantities.
  • Reviews material availability for on-going or planned production and makes schedule recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Implements Change Orders as required on the production floor.
  • Conducts, records and tracks the results of daily cycle counting activity.
  • Train and mentor direct reports on the cycle count process.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience planning or purchasing in a manufacturing environment using advanced material planning processes.
  • A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent); APICS Certification (CPIM or CIRM) desired.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $80,000.00 to $100,000.00. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
