Full Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Supervising Engineer with experience supporting Nuclear Power Plant modifications. The successful candidate will lead a team of Aecon (United) Electrical, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineers and designers, providing continuous, on-site support various nuclear plant in the North and South Carolina. Work entails developing/checking engineering modification packages, managing scope, schedule, budget and approval of design documents.
What You'll Do Here:
• Develop engineering change and plant modification packages.
• Create equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, and analysis as required to support the design and configuration control process.
• Create equipment specifications including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and UPS/DC.
• Work on calculations including electrical studies including short circuit, voltage drop, coordination and arc flash studies using OTI-ETAP software.
• Prepare electrical design documents including single-line diagrams and panel schedules, schematic and wiring diagrams, electrical physical and raceway drawings, lighting and grounding plans, and cable schedules.
• Supervisory responsibilities include review of proposals, schedules and budgets; monitoring and reporting budget and schedule performance; and providing technical leadership to engineers and designers for the electrical and I&C disciplines.
• Lead and support electrical engineering, I&C and design activities on the project.
• Coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other members of the project teams.
What You Bring To The Team:
• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Strong practical knowledge and experience working in Nuclear Operating Plants
• Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state in the U.S. with ability to obtain licensure in other states by comity.
• Min 8+ years overall experience in the design of electrical systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with standard plant design processes, and experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with IEEE, EPRI, industry codes and standards.
• Good written and oral communication skills. Must be able to interface with other members of the project team including other disciplines, clients, contractors and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Teams.
• Ability to obtain unescourted access to a nuclear powerplant.
Citizenship Requirements:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
