POSITION SUMMARYThis position is accountable for providing project leadership for field construction activities and personnel. Ensures that the assigned projects meet budget, schedule, quality and safety objectives. They are also influential in the management of other employees and helping to ensure that the company has the field personnel necessary to meet staffing needs. Will participate in business development and estimating activities within their core competency.
The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide project leadership for field construction activities.
- Determine construction methods, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.
- Train and develop Foremen working on their projects and develop a solid mentoring system for the crew.
- Manage day-to-day construction operations through assigned personnel.
- Create and maintain project schedules; forecast risk; identify delays early.
- Coordinate site logistics with GC, subcontractors, and PM.
- Ensure safety program compliance (Jobsite Safety Assessments, Toolbox Talks, site-specific safety plans); actively evaluates the effectiveness and ensures corrective measures are implemented when necessary.
- Assists the Safety Department in performing incident and/or accident investigations and follow-up.
- Inspect work for adherence to drawings, specs, and quality standards.
- Assist Project Manager with cost/schedule forecasts, pay requests, and change orders.
- Execute project closeout, punch list, and turnover.
- Participate in business development/estimating activities within expertise.
- Oversees large, complex projects or multiple crews.
- Manages large crews with effective time management.
- Develops PEPs and mentors foremen.
- Manages staffing and field coordination independently.
- Communicates site problems, plan conflicts, schedule, and quality issues effectively to the Project Manager and General Contractor
- Actively and continually monitors project equipment needs, utilization and maintenance requirements. Understands all subcontractors' scopes; assures subcontractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirements.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSThe incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment if required to work or visit the jobsite. This may include hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
This individual must also have the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, including corporate and executive.
The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
