Full Job Description
What this job involves

As a Superintendent, you are the site owner for the Build phase through Final Completion. You run the trades, the safety program, and the quality of work in place so the look-ahead, the daily report, and the building are the same job.

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Own mobilization with the Construction Manager: temps, fencing, offices, utilities, access, and Landlord compliance.
  • Execute the site logistics plan: laydown, hoisting, deliveries, traffic, and adjacent-tenant constraints.
  • Confirm permits and conditions-to-start are closed before work begins.
  • Stand up and lead the safety program: pre-task planning, daily huddles, and toolbox talks.
  • Run daily site operations, manpower tracking, and same-day reporting visible to the Project Manager.
  • Manage trade handoff QC; do not release a follow-on trade onto unfinished or unaccepted work.
  • Build and work the two-week look-ahead with the Construction Manager on the master schedule.
  • Pull permit inspections, testing, and mockups forward; coordinate AHJ and special inspectors.
  • Execute commissioning and QC against the established plan; verify installed quantities that feed the pay application.
  • Support RFIs and submittals from the field using only the approved-for-construction set.
  • Drive the punchlist to zero with the Construction Manager, walk final AHJ inspections and the Final Certificate of Occupancy, and verify attic stock before closeout.

Required qualifications
  • 7+ years of commercial construction field supervision on occupied or technically constrained sites.
  • Proven ownership of daily reports, look-aheads, trade handoff QC, and AHJ inspection sequencing.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership: pre-task, huddles, toolbox talks, and incident response without waiting for the office.
  • Ability to read construction documents, approved submittals, and a CPM look-ahead and run the site from them.
  • Clear, same-day written communication.
  • OSHA 30 certification; valid driver's license and ability to be on site daily.

Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with e-Builder or equivalent PMIS for daily reports, photos, and punch.
  • Mission-critical, landlord-controlled, or client-occupied environment experience.
  • Commissioning and TCO/Certificate of Occupancy close experience.
  • Trade background before supervision.
