Full Job Description
SUMMARY:

The Superintendent provides overall leadership for on-site field management and administration as it relates to the onsite construction process in planning, coordination and execution of work on time and within budget. Position includes direct supervision of junior staff, foreman, trade partners and other construction related personnel in planning, coordination and execution of work on time along with direct coordination with clients, design team members, third party consultants, etc. Position leads in the establishment of the project parameters as it relates to onsite work while maintaining a safe workplace, enforcing quality control, enhancing client relationships and promoting the company image.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Nine (9) years of construction operations experience OR Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field and five (5) years of progressing supervisory construction experience
  • Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour
  • Proficiency with computer-based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software
  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainable construction (ex. LEED)
  • Ability to manage a team and lead a project to a successful outcome

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • Creates agendas and leads field meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, timelines, and any potential issues, maintaining strong communication across all parties involved
  • Partners with project management to lead the project team, ensuring responsibilities are clear, tasks are delegated effectively, and team members are supported and developed
  • Creates and implements quality control processes and proactively manages risks, ensuring project milestones are met and standards are maintained
  • Implements and enforces EHS policies, coordinates inspections, and works proactively to mitigate risk and maintain compliance with all safety and standards
  • Works proactively to identify safety hazards and quality concerns, addressing issues before they escalate and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
  • Implements and enforces DAVIS best practices
  • Develops and enforces site-specific safety plans, ensuring all trade partners and team members follow safety protocols; enforces safety inspections on specific project site equipment
  • Actively identifies and mitigates potential risks on the project, providing solutions and adaptations to avoid delays or safety hazards
  • Proficiently manages project documentation, ensuring all necessary reports, schedule, invoices, and compliance documents are properly handled • ensures the completion and accuracy of essential documentation (including RFIs, daily reports, drawings, quality control forms, and safety inspections)
  • Creates, manages, adjusts project schedules and logistic plans independently
  • Creates look aheads and manages the project schedule; coordinates with trade partners to ensure the completion of tasks on time, and addresses any schedule discrepancies with minimal direction; executes site logistics and sequencing plans
  • Manages scheduling, quality control, safety protocols, and ensures adherence to the project schedule and deadlines
  • Manages the project through completion, including final inspections, addressing punch list items, and preparing for project closeout; ensures all deliverables are met
  • Maintains positive relationships with owners, vendors, architects, engineers, and consultants property manager, building engineer, owner's rep or development manager; addresses concerns promptly and effectively to enhance satisfaction and trust and ensure repeat business and referrals
  • Manages project contracts, material tracking log, scopes, financial documentation, and trade partner relations; provides accurate reporting on-time; effectively manages contract documents
  • Reviews and verifies the quality of work by trade partners, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and project standards
  • Performs layout and control work for the project needs; establishes hold-to dimensions and ensure construction is in compliance
  • Understands trade scopes and evaluates trade tickets for validity

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$105,000.00 - $140,000.00
