Join our team as a Grading Superintendent. We are seeking an experienced heavy civil construction leader to oversee grading crews, site development operations, heavy equipment, subcontractors, production, jobsite safety, quality control, scheduling, and project cost control across the Carolinas.
Job Overview
The Grading Superintendent plans, organizes, and controls construction activities; leads employees and subcontractors; conducts quality inspections; and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. The role requires flexibility to perform a wide variety of field tasks as project needs and workflow dictate.
What You'll Do
Plan, organize, and lead one or more grading crews.

Develop schedules and monitor crew and subcontractor attendance, productivity, and performance.
Calculate material quantities, coordinate deliveries, determine trucking needs, and schedule trucks.
Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
Oversee heavy equipment operations and operate equipment as needed.
Monitor costs and help keep projects within budget.
Prepare progress reports for project management.
Maintain required project documentation, field permits, and licenses.
Adapt to changes in schedules, project locations, and shift times.
Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of heavy civil grading experience.
5+ years of supervisory experience.
Experience operating a motor grader and other relevant heavy equipment.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ pounds.
