This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day to day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of supply chain operations, driving organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin's bottom-line.

Our Propellant Team SCA III will ensure program propellant and cryogenic/pneumatic system requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs Blue Origin. They will be competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives. They have excellent oral and written skills, and solid negotiation and communication skills. They also have experience preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal/ Requests for Quote, performing cost analysis in support of proposals for propellant or similar commodity and system requirements, have developed negotiation strategies and led formal negotiations. Our SCA III is experienced in constructing various contracting types for major propellant activities/scheduling to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business to include long range procurement agreements, master services agreements, lease agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies. They take ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation, management of cryogenic systems development efforts through the life of the PO to final payment of invoices and are accountable to resolve issues within this process. They will lead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements (i.e., Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)) where mutually beneficial. They will support the overall procurement organization's strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved to include delivery of cryogenic test and launch systems requirements that are on time, within budget and meet technical performance requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Processing & Managing RFQ, RFI, and RFPs

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 7 years of experience or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience. Degree will be in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related specialty to supply chain management
  • Minimum 20% travel required
  • Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
  • Knowledge of Propellant Market or similar commodity spot, micro and bulk buys.
  • Previous experience negotiating purchase of large and small scale pressure vessels, cryogenic tanks, skids, tube banks, as well as leasing options.
  • Knowledge in initiation, review and negotiation of Riders, Leases, Rental Agreements, Long Term Agreements (LTSA) and Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Production Service Agreements (PSA).
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
  • Background and purchasing and negotiations of Bulk and Micro Bulk Propellants and Packaged Gases.
  • Strong Supplier Management and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) maintenance
  • Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics
  • Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and monitor delivery schedules.
  • Must have top notch people and communication skills.

  • Experience with Costpoint, Coupa, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Tableau, Databricks
