Candidate ProfileWe are seeking an experienced Structures and Facades Engineer to join our Toronto team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical expertise in building enclosures, with a focus on waterproofing, structural connections, and façade system design. This role combines advanced engineering knowledge with client-facing leadership, including business development and relationship management.
Key ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the design and engineering of complex building façades and enclosures, ensuring performance in waterproofing, thermal, and structural integrity.
- Develop and oversee structural solutions involving steel, aluminum, and other materials for façade connections and support systems.
- Manage and deliver façade engineering projects from concept through construction, coordinating with architects, contractors, and other consultants.
- Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and preparing proposals.
- Serve as a technical expert on enclosure systems, providing peer reviews and advising on industry best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth within the team.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Professional Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Technologist, or Architectural Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in structural and façade engineering.
- Proven track record in enclosure design, with a strong background in waterproofing solutions.
- Expertise in steel and aluminum connection design and detailing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license preferred.
