About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire a Structured Investments and Annuities Coverage Attorneyto join the Legal team. The ideal candidate is an attorney with experience with financial products, including structured investments, as well as in-depth knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations applicable to such products. This role will work closely with the structured investment and annuities business lines, and other attorneys within our Legal and Compliance teams.
Responsibilities
  • Negotiate complex agreements with counterparties, including structured investment and annuity product issuers, as well as financial institution users of iCapital's web-based structured investments and annuities platform.
  • Assess and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risk with respect to product offerings and financial technology services.
  • Work closely and collaborate with, and provide advice to, the Structured Investments and Annuities business teams on strategic initiatives and day-to-day matters.
  • Analyze cross-border legal and regulatory requirements and provide advice to the business teams on such requirements.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA rules
  • Member in good standing of New York Bar or another state or jurisdiction
  • Law firm or in-house experience at a broker-dealer, including supporting a structured product desk, is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
  • Organized and detail-oriented with big picture capabilities

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
