Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Structural Project Engineer (PE) to perform structural analysis, conceptual design, and technical calculations for complex industrial and high-tech manufacturing facility projects. In this role, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary design teams, lead small task groups, and develop structural requirements using steel, concrete, and advanced engineering analysis tools. Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis: Perform conventional structural engineering design and lateral load analysis (wind and seismic) using US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
Quality Control & Peer Reviews: Conduct self-checks, review structural calculations generated by team members, and ensure high quality across design documents and BIM models.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Structural Leads, Designers, and other engineering disciplines to incorporate structural requirements into 3D models (Navisworks/Bluebeam).
Project Execution & Scope Management: Manage assigned workload to meet budget, schedule, and quality milestones; identify potential scope changes and communicate risks proactively.
Technical Leadership: Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Field Engineering Support: Conduct site walks and physical observations as required (climbing ladders, inspecting raised access floors, or navigating construction areas).
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering (or BS in Structural Engineering).
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
Experience: 4+ years of dedicated structural engineering experience in steel and concrete design.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with structural analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam; strong working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC provisions.
Location Requirements: Home office setup within the designated Northeast/Midwest US region.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Experience in semiconductor, advanced technology, or heavy industrial facility design.
Demonstrated capability leading small engineering task groups or project sub-teams.
