  • Adapt duties to align with evolving business unit objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Your projects may include many aspects of applied mechanical / structural engineering including design, analysis and test of mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures. The projects will include the integration of materials and processes, manufacturing, test, operations, and systems engineering.
  • Participate in the entire design cycle, including requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing and qualification.
  • Participate in the assembly and test of development and flight hardware including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost.
  • Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a BS Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.
  • Basic understanding in the fundamentals of design (requirements identification, material selection, input definition, form factors, interface definition, environmental considerations, etc.)
  • Basic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred) including drawing creation.
  • Basic proficiency in strength and mechanics of materials.
  • Basic proficiency in structural analysis including Free-body diagrams, hand calculations, etc.
  • Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred).
  • Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset.
  • Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.


Desired:
  • MS degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with flight control actuators, deployable devices (doors, landing gear, sensors, etc.), hydraulic system components, separation systems, or other mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of common aerospace materials, surface treatments, and fasteners.
  • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Hands-on experience with machining, building, and maintaining pressurized or mechanical systems.
  • Mechanical component testing experience.
  • Test instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of fatigue and damage tolerance.

Compensation Range for:
CA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85CO applicants is $74,537.00 - $104,351.10WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85
