Job DescriptionThe Impact You'll Make- Design and repair of highway and interstate bridge projects from conception through completion
- Perform structural engineering calculations and analyses throughout all project phases, from preliminary to final design
- Develop comprehensive plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates
- Provide construction support services, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and reviewing shop drawings
- Collaborate with project teams, interdisciplinary consultants, the Florida Department of Transportation, and external reviewers to ensure quality and accuracy
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
- Oversee project documentation and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and scope requirements
QualificationsThe Expertise You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 8+ years of hands-on structural design experience
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proven experience in FDOT bridge design and plans production, including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, post-tensioned substructures, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, box culverts, and sign/signal structures
- Advanced proficiency with structural design software such as Leap Bridge, MDX, FB Multi-Pier, CSI Bridge, LARSA, STAAD, Atlas, and FDOT Mathcad Structures Design Programs
- Expert-level skills in structural drafting using MicroStation and OpenBridge Modeler
Preferred:- Track record of managing engineering projects with strong attention to budget, quality, scope, and stakeholder coordination
- Specialized experience designing steel plate and box girder bridges
