Job DescriptionAECOM's Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge (GPA) Engineering Practice is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a passion for bridge design. Our GPA Bridge Engineering Practice works on projects for our local clients, as well as mega-projects throughout North America. These projects are delivered across many clients via various delivery methods. The GPA Bridge Engineering Practice has offices in Philadelphia, PA, Conshohocken, PA, Mechanicsburg, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Morgantown, WV. This Structural Engineer role is a hybrid role, working a minimum of 2 days from one of these AECOM offices and the remaining days remotely each week.

Our Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge Engineering Practice partners with our clients to build, modernize and expand transportation projects that carry all our communities into the future - safely and reliably. We use our extensive knowledge in planning, designing and managing transportation systems - as well as restoring and replacing aging infrastructure - to help our public and private clients find smarter, more advanced ways to move people across cities, countries and continents.
The responsibilities of the Structural Engineer position include, but are not limited to:- Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges and other transportation structures;
- Analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges;
- Use of computer software for the analysis and design of bridges and other structures;
- Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical reports, design calculations, and structural plans;
- Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical specifications and construction cost estimates;
- Working both independently and with groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists toward the development of structural design documents and contract deliverables;
- Following of QA/QC procedures to ensure the technical quality of deliverables, and assisting with responses to client's comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.
- Training, mentoring and helping to develop junior structural engineering staff; and
- Structural-related project task management.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus and four (4) years of relevant experience working on bridges and other transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
- Six (6) or more years of experience with structural bridge design
- Project experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and/or other State DOTs
- Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis using CSiBridge or other bridge FE analysis software
- Experience in BIM delivery and/or modeling using Bentley Open Bridge Modeler (OBM) or other modeling software
- Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement
