Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting programs to provide strategic buying & sourcing of goods, materials, and services. Required to strategically manage Forj Medical purchasing through consolidation of spend, market intelligence, strategic supplier relationships, and the execution of global supply agreements among other things.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager uses best practices to ensure continuous supply of the specified products & services at the best cost to meet strategic goals and objectives. S/he is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising the activities of commodity management, supplier selection, contract agreements, and strategic purchasing activities.
  • Proactively assess and understand both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Manage supplier escalation(s) to influence supplier activities and mitigation impact to Forj Medical operations
  • Manage Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing of materials within commercialized (phase 5) programs & ensure continuity of material supply.
  • Set expectations so that contracts, in/out sourcing objectives and initiatives, purchasing, and materials planning are met.
  • Manage the supplier selection and approval process for all new manufacturing suppliers.
  • Assess and proactively manage supplier risk; Negotiate supplier improvements and supplier contracts; Manage strategic supplier relationships
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and align on optimal sourcing strategy and communicate strategy within the organization; Provide influence on internal and external stakeholders to drive sourcing strategies
  • Drive year over year improvement in all aspects of the supplier base; quality, service, and cost
  • Develop in depth knowledge of suppliers to understand trends in the marketplace and drive supply base to support competitive advantage for Forj Medical
  • Data analysis and tool development to manage suppliers
  • Closely monitor the supply market with regards to pricing, commodity trends, supplier capacity, supplier news, industry news and new product development
  • Execute supplier management programs with suppliers, including the development of performance metrics
  • Support Quality Management on Audits and Assessments of new and existing suppliers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Resource Management, Manufacturing or related field.
  • MBA or Masters degree and/or any certification a plus (APICS certification or Certified Purchasing Manager-CPM, Certified Supply Chain Professional-CSCP).
  • 7+ years of experience in running a sophisticated supply chain (strategic sourcing, managing suppliers, industry analysis, contract management, negotiations, and forecasting); with a minimum of five (5) years in leadership role overseeing the work of team/department. Medical device preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership principles and practices, supervision, training, coaching and mentoring, and talent development of a diverse group of people.
  • Preferred experience with electronic components and assemblies with supply material spend of $50M+.
