Full Job Description
What you'll do day-to-day

  • Conduct research on software and AI markets, including enterprise software, generative AI, cloud computing, semiconductors and AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, automation, and vertical software.
  • Attend industry conferences, expert consultations, product briefings, and technology events to gather targeted insights from executives, customers, developers, consultants, researchers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Track AI adoption trends across industries, including use cases, spending patterns, implementation challenges, productivity impacts, and competitive positioning.
  • Analyze software business models, customer demand, pricing trends, usage metrics, product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and competitive landscapes.
  • Produce clear, concise written summaries and analytical memos that synthesize findings and highlight investment-relevant implications.
  • Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, product launches, earnings commentary, technology shifts, and other signals relevant to software and AI companies.
  • Support strategic research initiatives tied to long-term technology themes, including the commercialization of AI, cloud migration, automation, cybersecurity resilience, and the evolution of enterprise software.
  • Collaborate closely with investment analysts to help frame research questions, identify information gaps, and develop differentiated perspectives on companies and sectors.


What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience; experience in technology research, software industry analysis, investment analysis, consulting, market intelligence, data analysis, or a related field is preferred.
  • Deep interest in software, artificial intelligence, and broader technology trends, with the ability to evaluate both technical developments and business implications.
  • A demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to synthesize complex technical and market information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with software business models, enterprise technology purchasing, AI applications, cloud infrastructure, or technology sector competitive dynamics is a plus.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative and thoughtful approach to problem-solving.
  • The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $145,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
