About the RoleThe Strategic Finance Associate will be a core member of Lab37's finance team, supporting financial planning and analysis, unit economics, investment cases, and strategic business reviews. This person will translate operational and technical decisions into clear financial implications and provide the analysis leadership needs to allocate capital, manage costs, and scale the business responsibly.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for an analytically strong professional who wants broad exposure to a fast-growing robotics business. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between detailed financial models, executive-ready materials, and ambiguous business questions. They will work closely with leaders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Commercial functions while taking increasing ownership of core finance workstreams.
What you'll doFinancial Planning & Analysis- Build and maintain Lab37's operating model, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plan in partnership with the Head of Finance & Strategy.
- Coordinate budget and forecast inputs across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Commercial, and G&A; identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance analyses, including budget-to-actual variance analysis, cash-flow outlooks, KPI reporting, and business review materials.
- Translate product roadmaps, hiring plans, manufacturing capacity, deployment schedules, and commercial assumptions into financial forecasts.
- Improve the tools, processes, and reporting infrastructure used to plan the business and communicate performance.
Strategic Finance & Projects- Develop and refine unit economics for current and future robot systems, including R&D investment, cost-to-build, deployment economics, utilization, payback periods, and returns on invested capital.
- Analyze customer profitability and automation ROI to evaluate how Lab37's products improve restaurant economics and operational performance.
- Support strategic analyses related to pricing, product economics, market expansion, cost structure, capital allocation, and investment decisions.
- Build clear, decision-oriented models and presentations for executive leadership, investors, and cross-functional partners.
What we're looking forThe ideal candidate is a finance athlete: intellectually curious, highly analytical, and eager to understand how products are built, deployed, and monetized. They can turn an open-ended question into a structured analysis, pressure-test assumptions, and communicate the answer clearly.
This person should be energized by working in a technical, operationally complex environment where finance is expected not only to report the numbers, but also to help shape decisions and strategy. They should be comfortable working with limited precedent, digging into details, and switching between independent execution and close collaboration.
Qualifications- 4-7+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or another highly analytical role.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building or maintaining integrated financial statements, operating models, forecasts, and long-range plans.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to create accurate, flexible, and easy-to-understand models.
- Strong analytical judgment and the ability to connect financial results to operational and commercial drivers.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into concise recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- High ownership, strong attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with incomplete information.
- Track record of working cross-functionally and building productive relationships with both technical and business teams.
- Experience with robotics, hardware, manufacturing, supply chain, restaurant operations, or technology businesses is strongly preferred, but not required.
What Success Looks Like- Within the first several months, develop a strong understanding of Lab37's business model, operating drivers, robot economics, and planning processes.
- Become a trusted analytical partner who produces reliable models, identifies the implications behind the numbers, and helps teams make better decisions.
- Take independent ownership of recurring analyses and selected strategic workstreams while improving the quality and scalability of the finance function.

The base salary range for this role is
$115,000 - $135,000 per year.Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
