The Division of Hematology & Oncology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital & Henry Ford Cancer Institute (HFCI) is currently recruiting a full-time, board-eligible/certified Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Physician for its busy, well-established hospital-based, academic practice, with an established fellowship program. We are looking for individuals pursuing a career in Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy and those that are board certified in Hematology, completed a Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship training and/or one of year experience in managing Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients.
Our Section of Hematology is positioned within the Division of Hematology/Oncology and comprised of faculty pursuing careers in classical or malignant hematology. Classical hematology in turn is broken down into certain specific areas, including hemostasis and thrombosis, sickle cell disease and thalassemia, iron disorders, and rare diseases. We have a federally funded hemophilia treatment center that has been involved in the regional, national, and international arena in clinical work, research, and outreach. In addition, our sickle cell program is a collaborative effort with other institutions and entities for comprehensive care, research, and education for our patients. The faculty within the Section of Hematology provide both outpatient and inpatient care and are involved in teaching medical students from Wayne State University Medical School and Michigan State University School of Medicine, as well as residents and fellows. Our fellowship program has been very active and currently admits a total of six fellows each year. For the three-year program, we have 18 total fellows within the Division. The section also provides opportunities for visiting fellows, residents, and medical students for specific rotations, including, but not limited to, coagulation and bone marrow transplant.
Our institution is part of the Southwest Oncology Group. The section of Hematology, like the rest of the Division of Hematology/Oncology, is actively involved in Phases 1-4 clinical trials and research activity with ongoing collaborations across different departments and institutions.
HFCI is a destination site for ambulatory cancer treatment, precision medicine, clinical trials and research, and enhanced support services for cancer patients. The Institute's approach to operations provides for a robust hub and encompasses a team approach to cancer care, with multiple locations and providers who seamlessly communicate with each other and have access to advanced treatment options such as Precision Medicine, with satellites located throughout Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan. - Must be board certified in Internal Medicine
- Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program or 2-year dedicated fellowship in hematology
- Completed a Stem Cell Therapy Fellowship and/or one year of experience managing Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients
