Job Summary

The Troy Medical Campus will be University of Michigan Health's first clinical presence in the Oakland County market. We are building a state-of-the-art specialty care campus in the heart of Troy where a deep human commitment to personalized care will come together with world-class expertise, cutting-edge therapies, and a legacy of more than 175 years of transformative research to help patients and families in Oakland County and beyond find their Michigan Answers. The campus will feature two outpatient facilities with over a dozen specialty programs, including Cancer services, Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine, and Reproductive Medicine, as well as a surgery/procedure center, comprehensive imaging services, laboratory, pharmacy, and therapy services. The campus is conveniently located near I-75, surrounded by popular shopping and dining, and features free parking and an on-site cafe, with facilities committed to sustainable, environmentally responsible practices.

Responsibilities*

• Provide care for patients in a multidisciplinary oncology clinic to include a variety of oncologic diagnoses
• Direct care and management of patients in the outpatient setting which includes performing history and physical, ordering labs and diagnostic testing, development of differential diagnoses, collaboration with the physician to develop a plan of care, patient and family education, counseling and support, collaboration and referral to other services and education to nursing staff, students and the community
• Management of treatment related toxicities
• Management of disease related symptoms
• Review of laboratory, pathology and radiographic test results
• Monitoring of patients requiring surveillance
• Participation in tumor board meetings as needed
• Participation in clinical research, which may include tasks such as screening patients for clinical trials, ordering appropriate tests/labs, monitoring for specific effects or symptoms.
• Participation in workshops, conferences or other CME activities pertaining to oncology
• Attendance at programmatic meetings and occasionally attend regional or national meetings

Roles and responsibilities may be periodically adjusted as determined by the needs of the Cancer Center Clinical Program.

Required Qualifications*

NP:

• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
• Current specialty certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care or Primary Care NP, Adult NP, FNP or Acute NP
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
• Current DEA registration required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required
• +2 years of APP experience in oncology
• APP experience in the care of patients with multiple oncology diagnoses
• Experience in management of oncology-related emergencies

PA:

• Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
• State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required
• Current DEA registration required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required
• +2 years of APP experience in oncology
• APP experience in the care of patients with multiple oncology diagnoses
• Experience in management of oncology-related emergencies

Full Time Salary range: $135,855 - $208,763 / year
