Float Pool Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Statewide Float Team! These roles provide vital coverage and support across
Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion nursing units, rotating through clinics in the designated region-or across the state, depending on assignment.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours
Perks: No weekends, on-call, or major holidays
Responsibilities What You'll Do as a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)? The Float Pool RN provides professional nursing care in alignment with national standards, company guidelines, and the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. You'll serve as a clinical resource and liaison while adapting quickly to diverse assignments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care.
- Conducting health assessments, obtaining patient histories, and providing education.
- Offering psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Safely preparing and administering therapies (medications, blood products) in accordance with governing standards.
- Performing venipuncture, accessing ports, and maintaining central lines.
- Monitoring labs, facilitating dose modifications per protocol, and consulting with providers for orders.
- Managing triage calls, symptom management, and medication management with accurate documentation.
- Assisting patients in accessing community resources.
- Following the Nursing Float Pool Playbook for role- and assignment-specific expectations.
Qualifications What We're Looking For: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- 1-5 years of nursing experience (Oncology strongly preferred).
- Entry, mid, or senior-level candidates welcome.
- Current and active RN license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to thrive in diverse clinical environments.
Preferred Skills: - Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) or prior oncology/infusion/radiation experience.
- Strong IV and central line skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities.
- Comfort with EHR systems (OncoEMR, Epic, or similar).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
