The Standardized Patient (SP) Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the UCLA Simulation Center's SP Program. Standardized Patients are an essential component of medical education--trained actors represent patients in interactions with trainees, portraying individuals with a wide range of medical conditions, backgrounds and health determinants.
The Director oversees SP program operations (including budget, scheduling, and curriculum), SP educator staff (trainers) and standardized patients themselves. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, education leadership and other stakeholders to support the development, delivery, management and evaluation of high-quality SP-based educational programs across the medical school and health system. Trainees include MD students, residents/fellows, faculty, and physicians.
