ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril's Manufacturing Automation team is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop automated solutions to production processes in partnership with design and manufacturing teams, from concept through production
  • Drive design for manufacturing and design for assembly (DFM/DFA), using automation fundamentals, to develop products ready for high rate production.
  • Conduct automation audit of current production capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, quality, cost, and safety
  • Design, develop, and implement robust, efficient, and high-quality automated manufacturing processes
  • Specify, design, procure, and validate tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment to support process requirements
  • Develop manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
  • Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, or process inefficiencies, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation methodologies
  • Manage projects related to manufacturing process improvement, automation, and capacity expansion
  • Provide technical support to production teams and train personnel on new processes and equipment
  • Set automation process standards and DFM/DFA best practices across programs
  • Drive factory-wide continuous improvement strategy and mentor and develop engineers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, with a focus on automation
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferably NX or similar
  • Strong DFM/DFA knowledge and experience applying it to automated production
  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing technologies (robotics, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, automated inspection)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Track record of leading end-to-end automated process development across multiple production lines
  • Experience integrating automation, robotics, or advanced metrology (e.g., CMM, optical scanning) into manufacturing workflows
  • Experience defining process and DFM/DFA standards and mentoring engineers
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering with a focus on automation
  • Experience integrating automation, robotics, or advanced metrology systems (e.g., CMM, optical scanning) into manufacturing workflows
  • Experience designing and fabricating tooling, jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Owned end-to-end equipment development and implementation


US Salary Range

$166,000-$220,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
