This Facilities Water Engineer role is central to delivering reliable, scalable water infrastructure for advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities. I've consolidated the detailed design-authority responsibilities into a concise, candidate-friendly posting while preserving the UPW technical scope. Because no education, experience, or credential requirements were provided, I have not invented them.
Our Facilities Engineering team develops the critical infrastructure that supports semiconductor manufacturing. We work across engineering disciplines, facility operations, suppliers, and project teams to create reliable, maintainable, and scalable utility systems that enable current production and future growth.
The Facilities Water Engineer will serve as the technical design authority for ultrapure water (UPW) systems throughout facility planning and design execution. This role will guide engineering partners and stakeholders in developing robust UPW solutions that meet water quality, capacity, reliability, maintainability, and manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities:- Lead third-party engineering firms in designing UPW systems, including pretreatment, reverse osmosis, deionization, UV treatment, polishing, storage, distribution, and reclaim
- Review and approve P&IDs, process flow diagrams, calculations, equipment specifications, datasheets, design narratives, 3D models, and construction documents
- Verify designs meet water quality, hydraulic capacity, redundancy, maintainability, constructability, and long-term facility requirements
- Coordinate UPW interfaces with process utilities, wastewater treatment, chemical distribution, facility automation, and semiconductor manufacturing tools
- Resolve technical design issues and lead design optimization, risk reduction, value engineering, standardization, and multidisciplinary design reviews
Minimum Qualifications:- Technical knowledge of UPW system design, including treatment, polishing, storage, distribution, and reclaim systems
- Ability to evaluate hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, material selection, piping layouts, control philosophies, and redundancy strategies
- Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, design guidelines, and industry best practices
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting semiconductor fabrication facility water or process utility systems
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud for multidisciplinary design coordination
- Experience leading engineering partners through conceptual design, basis of design development, detailed engineering, and constructability reviews
- Experience using approved AI-enabled tools for engineering analysis, document review, specification development, and summarization in accordance with data protection and AI governance requirements
