A Brief OverviewPrepare organ and organ system specimens for clinical diagnostic study of cells for the purpose of recognizing and classifying malignant and benign inflammatory conditions.

What you will do- Adheres to safety/health regulatory and state/federal legal requirements and the policies, operating procedures and Services Standard of the Hospitals.
- Collects and prepares biological specimens using cytogenetic culture and harvest procedures; prepares microscopic slides using routine banding techniques.
- Maintains accession records of specimens.
- Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Conducts regular assessments and records the lab equipment's performance, reliability. Notifies appropriate personnel if any issues, exceptions arise. Performs other duties as requested.
- Prepares computer-generated images of chromosomes to capture the suspected abnormalities for further analysis, review.
- Screens and images specimens under a microscope. Selects cells, counts chromosomes, identifies and analyzes any abnormalities making distinctions and judgments based on chromosome structure and cell-cycle kinetics.
- Summarize results of analysis and prepares routine reports and non-routine results for Lab management review and action.
Education Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
Experience Qualifications- One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
Licenses and Certifications- CLS . or
- CACCS- Clin Cytogeneticist Scientist .
Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $69.10 - $77.81 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
