Description The Clinical Staff Pharmacist (RPh) serves as important part of the healthcare team at Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH). The RPh ensures the safe and effective use of medication by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services. The RPh monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate and works with the appropriate medical staff to find alternatives when needed. The RPh facilitates medication reconciliation process and works closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best care is provided. The RPh accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current BMH policies and procedures.
Position Requirements Education: - Graduated from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE); Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD.) preferred.
Experience: - Prefers Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (proficiency in dispensing and clinical rounding)
- Prefers Post-graduate residency training (PGY1 and/or PGY2)
- Prefers Board C ertified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BC PS) certification
- Prefers C ertification from KPIC Aseptic Technique Training Program
- Prefers C ertification from KPIC Training Program for Handling Hazardous Drugs in the Pharmacy Setting
- Previous employment history should provide an indication that the individual is motivated to perform assigned job responsibilities in an above average manner
Certifications/Licenses: - Must possess South Carolina pharmacist license in good standing at time of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
