ABOUT THE ROLEAs a
Staff CAD Platform Engineer (NX / Teamcenter), at Anduril, you will be instrumental in establishing, maintaining, and optimizing the Siemens NX CAD environment that powers our engineering and manufacturing teams. You will lead the configuration, standardization, and continuous improvement of our NX and PLM ecosystem, ensuring that designers and engineers have reliable, performant, and standardized tools to rapidly innovate. Your expertise will directly contribute to our ability to design, iterate, and deliver cutting-edge defense solutions at speed and scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment, including templates, customization files, role-based configurations, and default settings across the organization.
- Administer and support NX installations, license servers, and integration with Teamcenter PLM; manage version upgrades, patches, and deployments to minimize disruption to engineering workflows.
- Configure and maintain standardized part families, product configurators, drawing templates, and reusable component libraries to enforce design consistency and best practices.
- Lead root cause investigations for recurring CAD/PLM issues; define, implement, and verify corrective and preventative actions and document findings to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain automation tools, scripts, and customizations using NXOpen API, Knowledge Fusion, and related frameworks to streamline repetitive design and data management tasks.
- Standards & Templates: Establish, document, and enforce organization-wide standards for CAD modeling and PLM data entry to ensure data consistency and integrity. Create and maintain global drawing templates and custom user interfaces.
- Provide technical leadership and structured training to engineering and design teams; mentor less experienced users and serve as the primary point of escalation for NX-related issues.
- Coordinate configuration and improvement projects with engineering, manufacturing, IT, quality, and Siemens/external service providers; act as the technical point of contact for significant CAD/PLM issues.
- Lead or champion reliability, capability, and continuous improvement projects related to the CAD/PLM environment; quantify benefits, document outcomes, and implement sustainable improvements.
- Ensure CAD configuration activities comply with site security, quality, and regulatory standards; assess and mitigate operational and data-security risks related to the engineering toolset.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Multi-skilled experience administering and configuring Siemens NX with advanced troubleshooting capability across CAD, CAM, and CAE environments.
- Experience configuring NX templates, customization files, role-based settings, and standardized environments for multi-user deployments.
- Experience creating and maintaining part families, product configurators, and reusable component libraries.
- Working knowledge interpreting NX Logs/Sys Logs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD/PLM technical documentation.
- 7+ years' experience working in a CAD administration or NX configuration role in an engineering or production environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Significant experience developing automation and customizations using NXOpen API, Knowledge Fusion, or similar frameworks.
- Experience administering Teamcenter PLM, including workflow, BOM, and access configuration.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and engineering teams on CAD/PLM upgrades and modifications.
- Capable of obtaining U.S. Secret security clearance
