As a Staff Product Manager on the Autonomy team, you'll be at the forefront of this revolution. You'll define the vision, strategy, and execution for automated driving and convenience features, shaping experiences that deliver unparalleled freedom and convenience. ResponsibilitiesStrategy- Develop and champion a clear product vision and strategy for new and existing automated driving and convenience features, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.
- Effectively communicate product priorities and progress to all cross-functional stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering, design and marketing.
- Architect the foundational "Value Narrative" and Unique Selling Proposition (USP) for autonomous features, translating complex technical capabilities into clear, human-centric benefits that drive consumer desire and market differentiation.
Product Definition- Define complex scenarios, edge cases, user stories, and end-to-end journeys that ensure a safe, intuitive, and premium experience.
- Collaborate with Systems engineering, and Cloud and Data teams to analyze vehicle telematics data. You transform raw data on customer utilization and feature behaviors into a roadmap for iterative feature performance and reliability.
- Leverage deep competitive analysis and a strong understanding of global AD/ADAS regulations (US and EU) to identify upcoming trends and pain points, ensuring Rivian's features are both compliant and market-leading.
Product Execution- Establish execution plans for the most complex, ambiguous "0-to-1" initiatives. You secure cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Design, and Project Management, serving as the SME to resolve blockers and make high-stakes trade-offs.
- Define and track sophisticated KPIs that measure the "Real-World Value" of features.
- Serve as the technical-marketing bridge, providing the "source of truth" for release notes, owner's guides, and technical publications to ensure internal teams and customers are prepared for every rollout.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Business. MBA is a plus.
- 7+ years of Product Management experience in automated driving, driver assistance or robotics, or a mix of 3-4 years in engineering and 3-4 years in product management in these fields.
- Demonstrated leadership in navigating extreme ambiguity to launch 0-to-1 automated driving features in nascent markets, while simultaneously driving the strategic scaling (1 to 1.x) of existing features.
- Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in product/project management tools and agile methodologies.
Bonus Qualifications: - Strong understanding of the automated driving stack.
- Experience navigating high-volume telematics datasets and big-data ecosystems to extract actionable insights into feature utilization, edge-case frequency, and user intervention patterns in autonomous systems.
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $206,500-$258,100 for San Francisco Bay Area based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
