As a
Sr. Technical Writer II, you will work alongside engineers responsible for cloud services, a suite of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools, and the container-based infrastructure platform to turn firsthand knowledge of how these services are built and operated into clear, accurate documentation.
What you'll do:- Work directly with the cloud, CI/CD toolchain, and container-based platforms infrastructure teams to understand how services are designed, delivered, operated, and supported.
- Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, runbooks, user guides, technical diagrams, workflows, and roadmaps for internal teams and service users.
- Build a consistent documentation framework with templates, content standards, ownership, review schedules, and clear publishing practices.
- Turn engineering discussions and system changes into accurate guidance and briefings for technical teams and senior government stakeholders.
- Verify content with technical owners and keep knowledge assets current throughout the service lifecycle.
- Use approved automation and AI tools to streamline drafting, review, publishing, and maintenance while verifying technical accuracy and following security requirements.
- Manage documentation priorities and deliverables independently in an Agile environment.
What you'll need to succeed:- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, knowledge manager, or in a similar content-focused role.
- Experience using a content management system or an intranet (e.g., GitLab, Confluence, Drupal) to publish, maintain, and govern documentation and knowledge assets.
- Experience developing technical diagrams, charts, and graphics for a variety of audiences.
- Experience supporting technical teams with writing templates, SOPs, and style guides grounded in human-centered design (HCD) and writing-for-the-web best practices.
- Ability to work independently, and experience working in an Agile Software environment.
SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $175,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
- The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
- The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
- Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
- This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses
- Company-paid training and/or certifications
- Referral bonuses
