Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise payment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with
IBM WebSphere,
COBOL,
AIX,
Linux, and the
MTS payments platform, and will be responsible for maintaining application stability, implementing enhancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Support, maintain, and enhance applications running on the MTS payments platform.
- Develop and troubleshoot COBOL programs and batch jobs in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Manage and deploy applications using IBM WebSphere Application Server.
- Perform system administration tasks on AIX and Linux servers related to application support.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist in planning and executing application upgrades and migrations.
- Monitor application performance and implement tuning strategies.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in application engineering or software development.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL and experience with legacy systems.
- Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
- Solid understanding of AIX and Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with the MTS payments platform or similar transaction processing systems.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl) and job scheduling tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in financial services or payment processing environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools.
