GPLA, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a Senior Structural Technical Manager.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the creation and QA/QC of drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under supervision. Oversee developing structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials and perform calculations and analyses using working knowledge of all relevant codes. Collaborate with engineers, modelers, detailers and external stakeholders to produce accurate 2D and 3D models using CAD tools, including Tekla Structures, and deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions within budget and schedule. Serve as SME while leading internal knowledge, skill and process/standards development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and production of drawings, specifications, and calculations during a project's design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents under limited supervision and coordination with managers. Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of engineering deliverables, including technical calculations, drawings, and specifications.
In collaboration with managers, oversees the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials using working knowledge of all relevant codes.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering technical support, resolving complex engineering issues, and providing guidance on innovative solutions and emerging technologies.
Leads knowledge and skill development through training, mentorship, and technical leadership programs.
Participates in professional societies, code committees, and industry forums to represent organizational expertise.
Collaborates with project managers and executives to align technical priorities with business and project objectives.
Leads the development and implementation of engineering standards, tools, and process improvements.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering with a structural focus or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
12+ years of experience in structural engineering required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
NCEES record for licensure maintenance preferred.
