Sr. Software Engineer

Sem-Sol is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help us keep pace with demand. Our ideal candidate is not the keep-inside-my-own-cubicle type. We need someone who can work well as a team because every day your job will involve collaborating with others who are invested in achieving the same goal. Our ideal candidate must also possess a combination of technical and communication skills as developing documentation goes hand in hand with developing software.

Duties will include:

• Developing and documenting software for controlling directed energy systems and subsystems
• Implementing a software repository and formal software configuration control
• Presenting work at design reviews and conferences
• Interacting daily with scientists, engineers, technicians, and program managers

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in software engineering or related field from an accredited college
• 5+ years of experience working on software control systems
• Working knowledge of software used in programming embedded microcontrollers, programmable logic controllers, and embedded computers
• Working knowledge of C# for developing user interfaces
• Previous experience developing software development plans
• Experience working in a research, development, or prototyping environment

Desired Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

• M.S. in software engineering or related field from an accredited college
• 10+ years of experience working on directed energy and/or pulsed power projects
• Active Top Secret security clearance
