🔧 What You'll Be Doing

• 🏗 Lead the architecture and evolution of business-critical platform services that power experiences across multiple teams and products
• 🌐 Design resilient, scalable systems with a deep understanding of long-term platform strategy, interoperability, and organizational impact
• ⚡ Anticipate operational risks and proactively build safeguards that prevent issues before they reach production environments
• 📈 Use data and outcomes to continuously assess whether engineering investments are creating meaningful value and adjust direction accordingly
• 🔄 Guide complex technical transitions, platform modernizations, and migration programs while minimizing disruption for dependent systems
• 📚 Produce high-quality architectural guidance, technical standards, and reference designs that help elevate engineering practices across the company
• 🛡 Establish operational, reliability, security, and AI governance standards for systems with broad organizational influence
• 🤝 Mentor and influence engineers across teams, helping raise technical judgment, architectural thinking, and engineering excellence
• 🤖 Drive responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering approaches, ensuring quality, safety, reliability, and business value remain at the forefront

• What We're Looking For

We're seeking an engineer with substantial experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems whose impact extends across organizational boundaries.

You will bring:

• Advanced expertise in software architecture and systems design
• Proven ability to evaluate complex technical trade-offs involving scalability, reliability, cost, latency, and maintainability
• Demonstrated success designing platforms and services that support multiple teams and business functions
• Extensive experience identifying and mitigating systemic risks before they become operational issues
• Strong technical communication skills with a history of creating influential architectural documentation and engineering standards
• Proven ability to drive technical alignment and influence decisions across multiple stakeholder groups
• Deep understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, governance, and responsible implementation practices
• Advanced proficiency using AI-powered tools to accelerate software development while maintaining quality and security standards
• Experience reviewing, validating, and governing AI-assisted engineering solutions
• Strong understanding of platform reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence

Additional strengths include:

• Experience leading large-scale modernization initiatives and technical migrations
• Knowledge of agentic workflows, orchestration patterns, and AI-native software development approaches
• Demonstrated success improving engineering effectiveness through automation and intelligent systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

US Base Salary Range: $200k
