About the RoleThe DevSecOps Software Engineer role involves deploying, configuring and maintaining a robust software development environment. This senior position requires expertise in at least one programming language, an advanced understanding of software development principles, and the ability to design and architect complex software systems.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes deployments such as the Big Bang framework. This role spans both on-premises and cloud environments, with particular emphasis on air-gapped operations. The ideal candidate will design and maintain infrastructure using secure IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible, implement comprehensive observability solutions for proactive monitoring, and seamlessly integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle. You must have strong expertise in container technologies, GitOps workflows, infrastructure as code, software development workflows, and security tooling. You should be comfortable collaborating with development teams to optimize processes and ensure high-quality, reproducible software delivery that meets stringent compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or master's experience).
- 8+ years of related professional experience.
- Ability to design, code, test, and debug complex software development environments.
- Experience with different software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum/Kanban.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Security Plus or IAT2 certification
- Proven experience as a DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer
- Proficient in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines (preferably using GitHub or GitLab)
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Experience with Windows and Linux software development
- Ability to identify bottlenecks in software development and create solutions to increase efficiency
- Strong understanding of security and software development best practices and principles
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with additional DevSecOps tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with C/C++ build tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay Range:
$156,666.00 - $215,436.75
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
