At GE Appliances, a Haier company, we are building world-class manufacturing operations powered by advanced digital technologies. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on candidate to drive digital transformation for our Camden, South Carolina manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will shape and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance efficiency, automate processes, and achieve measurable operational improvements. This role is part of plant staff and will advise plant leadership, set and execute strategic vison, set priority for partnering DT teams to advance our global smart factory vision, as well as technical development and configurations for DT related production equipment, bridging automation, robotics, vision systems, and enterprise data flows.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Site Leadership & DT Coordination

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the execution and support of plant level Digital Technology (DT) strategies aligned with enterprise goals, serving as a key advisor to plant leadership for Factory Master Plans and deliverables
  • Operational & Financial Management: Forecast local IT budget and manage the end-to-end on-time project delivery, resource allocation, asset management.
  • AI & Innovation: Promote, encourage, and lead AI initiatives to modernize IT and OT manufacturing processes and drive smart factory advancements.
  • Systems Integration: Partner with operations to optimize core systems, including development and configuration of MES (Proficy Cimplicity), ERP (Oracle), quality management, and OT security solutions.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Lead data collection strategies within MES platforms to streamline processes and maximize production performance.
  • Edge Technology & Infrastructure: Direct the design, configuration, and maintenance of plant systems and edge devices, including barcode scanners, camera systems, printers, and connected hardware.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across teams to establish technology best practices and keep the site aligned with emerging manufacturing IT trends.
  • Support & Escalation: Coordinate day-to-day site DT needs, partnering with managed services operations team to maintain a high system availability and rapid resolutions.

MES & Systems Analysis (Proficy Cimplicity)

  • MES Administration & Optimization: Act as the hands-on site analyst for Proficy Cimplicity, managing screen/UI configurations, tracking workflows, and troubleshooting daily transaction anomalies.
  • Data Flow & Traceability: Partner with site teams to capture shop floor data, ensuring end-to-end material tracking, quality verification, and production accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze application behavior and user feedback to identify system enhancements, ensure high production line yields, and optimize process cycle times.

Shop Floor, Controls & ERP Integration

  • Controls & Automation Collaboration: Maintain frequent, close collaboration with plant controls engineers to coordinate data handshakes between automation systems, PLC data, robotics, line scanners (Cognex), and vision systems into Velotic Proficy.
  • ERP Data Transaction: Coordinate interface logic and transactional data integrity between Proficy Cimplicity and enterprise systems (such as Oracle ERP).
  • Hardware & Edge Device Support: Solution shop floor edge hardware, (barcode scanners, label printers, vision systems, industrial PCs, and shop floor terminals) working with local Deskside techs to build and support the factory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in IT roles within manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading complex projects and managing IT professionals.
  • Strong communication skills with leadership staff, team members, and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in MES system configuration, screen/UI design, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, including Procurement and integration/data flow design.
  • Understanding of networking and cybersecurity principles in industrial/OT settings.
  • Experience with project management and data analytics tools (e.g., Office suite, Jira, Smartsheets, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficient in Oracle SQL and comfortable reading code in languages like JavaScript.
  • Ability to work on-site in Camden, SC, with flexibility to support production escalations when necessary; occasional travel (~5%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior direct experience configuring and troubleshooting Proficy Cimplicity.
  • Familiarity with machine vision and scanning technologies (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Datalogic) and PLC-to-MES data exchanges.
  • Exposure to or practical interest in applied Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning tools in an industrial or analytics context.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing IT architectural concepts (such as ISA-95 frameworks).
  • Experience with project and workflow tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or project management fundamentals.
